TRIBUTE TO MAMA NGO ZIMI PAM

Mama Ngo Zimi Pam was born in 1925 which invariably explains that mama spent 97| years on this troubled earth until death came knocking on her door on 15th January, 2022 at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital, JUTH Jos, Plateau State after a protracted illness There is no doubt of the fact that mama lived a fulfilled life. This is because apart from her age of departure from the earth which tallies with the bible injunction of the age of a believer to die, every Christian believer would pray fervently for a cross over night from December 31st to January 1st. mama’s death on the 15th of January is a clear evidence of an answered prayer of the cross over. Mama was born 1925 into the family of Gulu Davou Vwang in Tachei-Gyel Bukur, Jos South, Plateau state of Nigeria. During her lifetime and in the journey of marriage to
Late Elder Pam, mama gave birth to four children among which is her glorious son Rev. Yakubu Pam, the Executive Secretary. Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission and Chairman, Advisory Board, International Human Rights Commission for Nigeria and West African Countries. Other children of mama are Davou, Gyang and Bukure Pam. The fact that mama was born into a less privileged home did not deter from pursuing excellence for her children, she ventured into farming from the beginning even though she was unfortunate of being an early widow, she worked vigorously for the betterment of her children and other people’s children in the community as it is today evident in the person of Amb. Rev. Yakubu Pam among other excellent children of mama Ngo Zimi Pam. The testimony of the living including family members and friends alike have testified that mama was a true Christian and a bridge builder who devoted all her life to Christ and service to humanity.
Her exemplary lifestyle of honesty, sincerity and patriotism in every relationship she had attracted the resolution of Takei community members across party line to make her the women leader of Takei community who speaks for the rights of women in the community. There is no doubt that mama was a highly influential woman in Takei village, Gyel, Bukuru in Plateau state. She was a member and leader of many Christian groups among which are: Member of the Women Fellowship, a fellowship which she used to expose her talent of good Christian songs personally composed by her during her youthful age.
Mama also led the following Christian groups: Widows Group for Gyel Women Prayer Band Assemblies of God Church, Gyel Christian Association of Nigerian Women Her major contributions in the struggle for the entrenchment of right of women and winning souls for Christ were evident during her lifetime. She stood as counselor to widows.
owning to the fact that she got her bitter pill in her early age in life. Her honesty and sincerity in the community elevated her beyond a woman leader to a traditional ruler where land disputes are being reported to her for settlements. An example of such unprecedented land dispute settlement was that of her community
Takei, Tanchol and a neighboring community called Tahei over land. She also settled individual and family crisis. Mama is well known to be a giver of the last food in her house and remain without food. She was also a friend of both the young and the old. She was a woman full of life and no wonder Amb. Rev. Pam is a replica of his honest mother who was dedicated to Christianity as a way of life. This is clearly seen in the current leadership of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission under his leadership.
